I have lived in Broxtowe for about 40 years and I’m married with one daughter. I attended a local comprehensive school and later university, studying Geographical Science. I have worked in the public sector for 15 years and prior to this I was a manager in industry.
I am also currently the branch secretary for my union. I have been a Labour member for about five years and have been actively involved in a number of campaigns during this period.
I am deeply concerned for vulnerable older and disabled residents and struggling families in the Borough, particularly with the roll out of Universal Credit and will work hard to minimise the negative effects of this to residents in Awsworth, Cossall and Trowell.
As an environmentalist, I will actively work for the restoration of habitats and for wildlife corridors to be integrated into any plans for development in the villages, to ensure we maintain the local countryside and wildlife. If elected I will take an active part in council activities and represent the ward to the best of my abilities, working as a team with my ward colleague, Freya.
