“I am so pleased to be standing as your Labour Candidate for Bramcote and Beeston North, where I live and bring up my two children. I have had the privilege of living in both Bramcote and on the Beeston fields estate for most of the last 6 years and I feel passionate about supporting the community
Earlier this year, I helped set up the Broxtowe Labour Hub food bank in response to the pandemic and was key in progressing this to become Broxtowe Community Projects of which I am now Chair. In doing this, I’ve seen the problems that many people are having in our area firsthand. I have decided to stand in the County Council elections next year as I know we can do much better for our area, especially on tackling childhood poverty and ensuring families have access to meaningful support. In particular, I will be a strong advocate for regular access to the health visiting teams, to protect our Children’s Centre and ensure it is better utilised for our community.
I would also like to see improvements to our bus service, specifically linking Bramcote and Beeston North more effectively with Beeston Town Centre, keeping older people and those at risk of isolation connected with support networks and services.” #votelabour
