I was born on Victoria Street in Eastwood before moving to Hill-top and I have lived here all my life. I am 63, and care passionately about my town and local people.
I was first elected in 1986 and during my time in politics I have worked hard for everyone in our community. I am a firm believer in social justice, equality and fairness. Currently I am the Leader of the opposition after being the leader of the council for 16 of the previous 20 years.
I am totally committed towards helping people to be the best they can, young and old, and providing the opportunity for everyone to contribute to society. It is with great sadness that I see the Conservatives cutting services and imposing austerity on local communities the impact of which is felt by the most vulnerable in society. Together with Labour we can change for the better.
